Week of Work Army

7th November 2017

The Sixth Form and Senior 1 welcomed Sergeant Major Mark Hill MBE as our first guest during our ‘Week of Work 2017’.  He talked to us about his life in the Army and gave us some good tips about team work: TEAM = Together Everyone Achieves More.

Harvest Celebration

10th October 2017

We would like to invite you to our Harvest Celebration on Friday October 20th at 10am. This year our theme is butterflies. We are raising money to help to protect the Duke of Burgundy butterfly, one of Britain’s rarest butterflies.  We are collecting the old style round pound coins which are no longer useable from next week. Butterfly Conservation are going to recycle them and use the proceeds to help the Duke of Burgundy.

We will also be supporting the Consett Food Bank, so if you would like to send in any tinned or packet food, fruit or vegetables, or any old style pound coins they would be gratefully received. Please could these be sent in to school on Thursday October 19th. Thank you.

School Leavers 2018 Informal meeting

25th September 2017

There will be an informal meeting on Thursday October 12th for those who have a child leaving Villa Real School next summer (2018).  This will be an opportunity to have a cup of coffee or tea, have a chat to other parents and to ask any questions that you might have.  Jill Hedley from the Improving Progressions Team will also be attending.  The kettle will be on from 1.30pm!

Euro Disco Wheelchair Dance Spectacular

We are delighted to welcome the Marquis Way Day Centre Wheelchair Dancers again to Villa Real.  They will be performing their ‘Euro Disco Wheelchair Dance Spectacular’ – which fits in very well with our emphasis on Europe this term.  Please come and enjoy the music and dance.  Provisionally booked for the first week in October.  More details later.

We were delighted to welcome Holly Robson to our Friday Assembly on September 22nd to present Volunteering Certificates to Ayrton Softley and Leah Sayers who had both completed 50 hours of volunteering last year.  Well done, Ayrton and Leah.
