Data Protection Advice

Villa Real School is responsible for large amounts of personal and sensitive data. Every care is taken to protect personal data and to avoid a data protection breach.

Data breaches include both electronic, media and paper records, and it can also mean inappropriate access to information.  In the event of a data breach the Data Protection Officer (DPO) will inform the head teacher and chair of governors. The school will follow the procedures set out in Data Breach Policy.

If parents receive information or incorrect letters about another child, it is imperative that the appropriate action is taken to minimise any associated risk as soon as possible.

Please do not read the information about the pupil/students and return the letter/form back to school. Please contact Louise Burns (DPO) to inform her of the error.

A decision will then be made as to whether this is a data breach and the ICO informed.
