Go Green Scheme Finalists – Vote For Your Winner

Villa Real school has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Go Green Scheme.

The Go Green scheme is an initiative brought to the education sector by Tel Group in May 2022.

Tel Group’s Go Green scheme opens up the education sector to additional funding towards their eco projects within the school. This funding is designed to be spent on a current or planned Eco Project within the school.

With schools striving to improve their environmental strategy, Tel Group’s Go Green Scheme funding provides an extra incentive for any school to take that next step on their journey of becoming environmentally friendly.

This scheme was taken on by a number of schools, seeing 120 applications received. The Tel Group team worked through all applications and narrowed them down to the final 5.

The final 5 will be presented to the Tel Group's  senior team on the 24th June 2022 and they will each vote on their winner, with the project with the most votes being awarded the funding.

Fairtrade Awareness

Villa Real School have been raising awareness of ‘Fairtrade’. For two weeks each year in February and March individuals, companies and groups across the UK come together to think about the people who grow our food and drinks, mine our gold and who grow the cotton in our clothes, people who are often exploited, underpaid and even work in dangerous conditions. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown us more than ever how interconnected we are globally. This interconnection is at the very heart of the Fairtrade message and is where our role as a school community begins. We all have the power to drive long-term change, not only with our shopping choices but also with spreading the message.

If everyone bought one item on our shopping list with a Fairtrade logo, we can be part of a solution to change the lives of others. Children will be able to go to school instead of working and plan for a better future.

Thank you from Villa Real School
