VISION
Like the rest of the school, the 14-19 provision at Villa Real is committed to Article 23 United Nations Convention Rights. This states that a child with a disability has the right to live a full and decent life in conditions that promote dignity, independence and an active role in the community. Children with disabilities are able to live a full and decent life in conditions that promote dignity, independence and an active role in the community

MISSION
To offer a personalised, inclusive and appropriate education in a safe but stimulating environment that enables every pupil/student to achieve their physical, emotional and academic potential.

MULTI-AGENCY APPROACH
Villa Real 14-19 provision works extremely closely with parents/carers and agencies to ensure a holistic approach to well-being and achievement. Villa Real employs its own Speech and Language Therapist and Future Steps Occupational Therapists so that students within the 14-19 provision have a robust package of support programmes for staff to follow. 14-19 provision staff work extremely closely with Social care colleagues to ensure that our students needs are meet in an all-encompassing way.

We are open to new ideas and embrace change. Pupils/students and staff are encouraged to question, to challenge perception and expectations, to push boundaries in order to develop dynamic and creative solutions.

Accountability
Our aim is to take personal responsibility for using resources efficiently to provide the highest quality learning opportunities, maximising progress and outcomes.

Togetherness
We are a school where everyone is respected and valued for their contribution. We thrive on our diversity and work in partnership to improve the quality of life for our pupils/students and their families.

Communication
We are a school committed to the Total Communication approach and an Open door policy with all stakeholders in the best interests of the pupils/students.
HEALTHY MIND

We aim to promote positive mental health for every child, parent / carer and staff. We pursue this aim using both universal, whole school approaches and specialised, targeted approaches aimed at identified vulnerable pupils and families.

In addition to promoting positive mental health, we aim to recognise and respond to mental ill health. Villa Real 14-19 provision works closely with CAMHS and the Durham behaviour Team. We recognise that by developing and implementing practical, relevant and effective mental health procedures we can promote a safe and stable environment for children affected both directly, and indirectly by mental ill health.
